40-acre Vacaville fire threatens structures

A 40-acre grass fire in Vacaville was threatening structures Monday morning north of Interstate 80, fire officials said.

The blaze broke out just before 9:30 a.m. near Trimm and Peaceful Glenn roads, west of Interstate 505, fire officials said.

Evacuations were issued for areas near the fire, but no details have been released.

A Red Flag Warning has been issued across the Sacramento region from now until 11 p.m. Tuesday due to fire concerns with north winds sustained between 10 and 25 mph, with gusts up to 35 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

Smoke can be seen throughout the area, and winds are strong in the region.

No additional details have been released.
