Foothill’s football team came into Friday night’s nonleague game with Esperanza a hungry team.
The Knights were winless in their first four games and two of the losses came on the final play of the game.
But Foothill was able to close the deal. The Knights took charge in the second quarter with three touchdowns and went on to capture a 44-13 victory over Esperanza at Tustin.

“The kids have been working hard all season long and we just haven’t been rewarded for our efforts so far,” said Foothill coach Doug Case. “We’ve had a lot of injuries and the kids haven’t quit on me and I appreciate that and we came out tonight and moreless started to put everything together.”
Foothill (1-4) was led by senior Justin Dupre, who rushed for 175 yards and two touchdowns and also hauled in a 12-yard TD pass from sophomore quarterback Andrew Dukus.
