HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Super Bowl times announced


The MIAA just released the times for the eight Super Bowl games at Gillette Stadium on Friday, December 1 and Saturday, December 2.

Not surprisingly, they opted to play the two Hockomock League teams on Friday, giving their relative proximity to the school. North Attleboro will play St. John’s (Shrewsbury) in the Division 3 Super Bowl at 5 p.m., followed by the Div. 2 Super Bowl between King Philip and Lincoln-Sudbury.

Middleboro will get the six-game slate rolling on Saturday when it tangles with Littleton in the Div. 6 Super Bowl at 9 a.m. Melrose seeks its first Super Bowl crown when it meets Nashoba in the Div. 4 Super Bowl (11 a.m.).

Millis seeks to defend its Div. 8 Super Bowl title against Hoosac Valley (1:30 p.m.), followed by the Cape Cod schools. Dennis-Yarmouth looks to cap off an undefeated season when it faces off aganst West Springfield in the Div. 5 Super Bowl (3:30), then Mashpee seeks a perfect season of its own against Blackstone Valley in the Div. 7 Super Bowl.

In the nightcap (8), defending Div. 1 champion Everett meets Xaverian in a rematch of last year’s final.
