James W. Wright Jr. of Tewksbury died Tuesday at home. He was 88.
He was born in Boston, raised in Brookline and attended Brookline schools.
He served in the Navy during World War II and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal.
Mr. Wright was employed by Baker Commodities Co. in Billerica for more than 15 years until retirement.
He was a former member of Ebenezer Fuller Masonic Lodge in Brookline.
He enjoyed gardening, cooking, watching westerns on TV and was a lover of animals.
Mr. Wright is survived by his wife of 59 years, Arlene M. (Babbin); two daughters, Janine L. Groppo of Nashua, N.H., and Doreen L. Moore of Sandown, N.H.; two sons, Earl W. of Tewksbury and James F. of Dracut; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two nephews and a niece.
