Fans of Big Slick Weekend, rejoice!
The annual local celebrity homecoming hoedown for KC area stars Paul Rudd, Eric Stonestreet, Jason Sudeikis, Rob Riggle and David Koechner will arrive slightly earlier than in previous years.
Organizers announced Monday that the next Big Slick Celebrity Weekend will be June 1-2, 2018.
Once again, the stars and their celebrity guests will play softball at Kauffman Stadium before a Friday Royals game (the boys in blue will be hosting the Oakland A’s June 1-3). The next day the celebrities will have a bowling tournament at Pinstripes in Overland Park and then head to the Arvest Bank Theatre at the Midland that night for the annual auction.
Tickets will go on sale in the spring. Find more info at bigslickkc.org.
In recent years, the event has been scheduled later in June. The move up makes sense: Rudd will be busy promoting “Ant-Man and the Wasp,” which opens June 29 in the U.K. (July 6 in the U.S.), and the Kansas City Royals will go on the road at the end of June. And Father’s Day weekend, when the Royals play the Houston Astros, was out because most of the hosts are dads and wanted to be with their families.
