L.A. Kings projected lines to open 2017-18 season


There is just one new face among the Kings top three lines, offseason free agent acquisition Michael Cammalleri. The 14-year veteran will skate with Dustin Brown and Anze Kopitar, with whom he formed a line in 2008 before he the Kings traded him away.

Despite a similar cast on the ice, the Kings new coaching staff is charged with creating significantly more offense for the team that scored the sixth fewest goals in the NHL last season. There are some new faces in the bottom six, including several young players who could emerge to make an impact. Marian Gaborik is not likely to be medically cleared from his offseason knee surgery before the season opener, but will certainly figure into the mix this year.

Drew Doughty (12 goals, 32 assists in 2016-17) – Derek Forbort (2 goals, 16 assists)

Alec Martinez (9 goals, 30 assists) – Jake Muzzin (9 goals, 19 assists)
