Missouri kid says teacher spit sunflower seeds in her face ‘like I was a garbage…

A Missouri grade-schooler says one of her teachers spit sunflower seeds in her face, making her feel like a “garbage can.”

Kaylee Bell’s mother complained to the principal of Lawson Elementary in Hazelwood after the incident that left her daughter in tears last week, according to KSDK in St. Louis.

The teacher apologized to the mother and has been placed on administrative leave while the Hazelwood School District investigates, the TV station reported.

“It made me feel disgusted,” 11-year-old Kaylee said. “It made me feel like a piece of trash, like he treated me like nothing. Like I was a garbage can he was spitting sunflower seeds in.”

Kaylee’s mom, Erica Sanders, said her daughter was standing near several other students when the teacher spit a mouthful of seeds at Kaylee’s face.

She complained to the principal on Friday. The teacher called her with an apology, saying he acted in poor judgment, Sanders told KSDK.

Though she met with the principal and a police officer, the teacher faces no charges. The district’s investigation continues.

Sanders wants the teacher fired.
