SideTrack: Jennifer Garner, Tom Brady, Gordon Ramsay and more…

GARNERING SUPPORT: Golden Globe-winning actress (and Ben Affleck’s ex) Jennifer Garner took the stage at The Nantucket Project this weekend. She was joined by Mark Shriver to advocate for the nonprofit Save the Children, which Garner supports as an artist ambassador, activist and board member. The duo impressed upon the crowd the importance of reaching families who need “a fair start for children living in poverty and increasing access to high-quality early childhood education across the country,” as outlined in The Nantucket Project program. Both Garner and Shriver spoke of the importance of having parents and their children connect through playing, reading and interacting with each other, ensuring education starts at home, before kids even get to school.


RIO-MAGINE: Brookline resident and international supermodel, Gisele Bundchen, has been living it up while at Rock in Rio, a massive music festival in her native Brazil’s capital of Rio de Janeiro. Bundchen has been posing for selfies with understandably giddy fans while taking in the tunes. The highlight, though: She gave a teary-eyed pep talk in front of a stadium-sized crowd while welcoming singer Ivete Sangalo to the stage in what could only be described as “a moment.” Our Portuguese is rusty, but luckily proud husband, Tom Brady, provided everyone a translation of her emotional words on his Instagram: “If we are all capable of imagining, we are all capable of creating, so imagine the world you want to live in. Imagine we are already living it. Imagine.”


QUITE A STIR: Newton South High School music teacher Jason Wang’s been hitting all the right notes so far on Fox’s “MasterChef” — he’s one of the Top 3 finalists in the culinary duel. Wang cooked his way to the high-pressure finale show by wowing judges Chef Gordon Ramsay (whom Wang described in an interview as “definitely scary”), Christina Tosi and Aaron Sanchez with a trio of perfect profiteroles. While the competition is for amateur home cooks, Wang’s creations are off the hook. The talented tenor posts recipes and such on Insta (@jasonjangywang), and his snap of the frozen vacherin with ginger coriander ice cream, black currant sauce, caramelized almonds and torched meringue from a recent pop-up dinner event at South End Buttery would win first place in any contest, if you ask us. Now Wang’s going whisk-a-whisk with two other contestants for the title of “MasterChef” and a $250,000 cash…
