A teenage boy was wounded Monday afternoon in a Stockton shooting, police said.
The 14-year-old was alert and conscious when he was taken to a hospital, Stockton police said. He is listed in serious condition.
The shooting happened around 3:20 p.m. near the 1100 block of West Scotts Avenue.
The boy was lying in bed when he was hit in the midsection by a stray bullet. Police said the shot was fired during a gun battle down the street from the boy’s home.
No other details about the shooting were released.
